Steamrollers Are Part of the 2016 #GivingTuesday Campaign

What is #GivingTuesday?

Every year, following the Thanksgiving turkey craze, the hustle and bustle of Black Friday, and the frenzy of Cyber Monday, is #GivingTuesday. It’s not coincidence that #GivingTuesday follows two of the biggest shopping days of the year-it’s designed that way to remind people of what the holiday season is really about-giving.

On #GivingTuesday, millions of Americas are encouraged to give back to their communities by volunteering at a local shelter, helping a person in need, or donating to a notable cause.

This is the first year that the Steamrollers will be participating in the #GivingTuesday national campaign. All funds raised will be used to assist Wheelchair athletes in need of assistance to fund their travel expenses to our National Tournament in June. Many of our athletes are on limited incomes and can’t afford the extensive cost of airfare and rental wheelchair vans required to participate with their team in our national tournament.

Please help spread the word of this #GivingTuesday campaign by sharing on your social networks.

Steamrollers Start the Season Off Right With Four Wins

The San Jose Steamrollers began their 2016-17 season with two wins in games against the Central Valley Ghostriderz and the BORP Shockers in Fresno on October 15th. The team played well, but came away with areas in which they were a little rusty with all the time off since June. They followed up the following week with two more wins on their home court in the Bascom Community Center Gym in San Jose. Both games, one against the BORP Crushers and another against the BORP Shockers were tough fought battles on the court, but the Steamrollers played more cohesively as a team, which led to their success.

Come check out the Steamrollers at their next home games at the Bascom Community Center Gym in San Jose on Saturday, December 10th.

Levi’s GranFondo Cycling Fund Raiser is Tomorrow!

Tomorrow is my big day in the saddle. I can’t believe this day has finally arrived. As per usual, I am not as prepared for this ride as I would like to be, but I will grind through the 103 mile ride with over 8,900 feet of climbing. Thank you to all those who have supported this fund raising effort for San Jose Power Soccer. I will post an update here and on Facebook following the ride.
