San Jose Steamrollers

A Power Wheelchair Soccer Team

Start to November’s Games!!!

A Good Start to November’s Games!

We started the day with being stuck in terrible traffic due to an oil spill on highway 80. Once we all got to the gym, we started grouping up as a team and getting warmed up. Our first game was against the BORB Crushers; battling back and forth for awhile, we finally put one in the goal. We kept pushing forward by using a team effort, moving down and passing through the open lanes. It was a long game of going back and forth, but skillfully working the court together and using different plays, the Steamrollers took a win of 3-0.

The second game was a great game against the Fresno Ghostriderz. It was a fun and fast paced game.  As a “team” we took the right opportunities and made some good plays. As the level of competition progressed in the game, so did the playful joking around between the two teams. The final score was 4-0 with another win for the Steamrollers.

Thanks to BORP for hosting the tournament.

A true display of skill

The continuation of the San Jose Steamrollers’ local domination showed no hindrance this past weekend. The combination and fluidity of ball movement was a sight to see. The skill of each player coincided with exceptional teamwork had the competition in shock. The end result a 2-0 weekend for the San Jose Steamrollers, with scores of: 5-0 against the Borp Shockers, 8-2 against the Borp Crushers. We would like to thank all the volunteers and referees for their much needed help and of course, to all the power soccer fans that showed support this past weekend.

The San Jose Steamrollers gain momentum

With a ‘clank’ of the guards and a thunderous shout “TEAM!”, the San Jose Steamrollers start the new season off with an intense focus. Together Everyone Achieves More is whats cemented in each player’s mind dissolving every single selfish thought and what remains is… limitless.

In the weeks prior, each athlete was given the task of stating personal goals that they would like to accomplish throughout the season. Some stating they want to reach a certain goal quota while others share their future ambitions of international play but the focus on everyone’s mind that Saturday morning was TEAM. The first display of teamwork was against the Central Valley Ghostriderz as the Steamrollers opened up with a goal within the first minute. The Steamrollers exhibited teamwork at its finest, communication was high, passing was crisp, and the execution of set plays netted the Steamrollers a 4-0 final score. The second game of the day against the BORP Shockers, the Steamrollers’ engines were warmed up and the end results showed, ending the game with a score of 9-1. The Steamrollers want to thank the Central Valley Ghostriderz for hosting and for all the volunteers and referees for making power soccer the sport that it is today.
