Steamrollers Improve to 18-0 with 2 Wins Today

The San Jose Steamrollers remain undefeated in the 2016-17 season with two more wins today on their home court against their Bay Area rivals, the BORP Crushers. Great team play by all contributed to the two wins. The first game finished with a 5-1 Steamrollers win after an early opening goal by the BORP Crushers. The second game was much tougher with a stronger defensive scheme demonstrated by the Crushers, but the Steamrollers still prevailed in a 2-1 victory.

The Steamrollers have one more away match in Fresno on May 6th, and their remaining games will be in their home gym at the Bascom Community Center. Come cheer on the Steamrollers at home on May 20th and June 3rd as they make their final preparations for their National Tournament being hosted in Indianapolis, IN on June 16-18.

California Tile Installers Donate Generously to the Steamrollers

Last Saturday, February 11th, Morgan Johnson and Charlene Johnson from California Tile Installers presented the San Jose Steamrollers with a very generous donation. Morgan Johnson, has always given back to her community by volunteering with a variety of charities in the Almaden Valley area, so when she joined California Tile Installers it seemed like a natural fit for her to be in charge of the company’s community outreach. Morgan heard of the Steamrollers need to raise over $15,000 to travel to their National Tournament in Indianapolis this June, so she approached the executives of California Tile about making a community impact by donating to the Steamrollers competitive wheelchair soccer team. The Steamrollers are extremely grateful to Morgan for thinking of our organization, and to the executives of California Tile Installers for their generous donation.

After the presentation we put Morgan and Charlene into Power Soccer Wheelchairs, so they could get a feel for the game. Check out Morgan’s skills in the video below.
